November 17, 2017: Making progress
We've been making some progress on Draxel recently. Here's a taste of what we've been working on...
Also, we'd like you to have a look at the first image of the dragon. Note that this image is under heavy development, and the final product may likely look much different!
July 11, 2017: Patch released
Pre-Alpha 1.6.1 has been released, addressing the many, many bugs in the previous version.
July 7, 2017: Pre-Alpha 1.6 finished
Pre-Alpha 1.6 has been completed! Contact me if you'd like to be a tester for this version. This is the largest update for Draxel since Pre-Alpha 1.4. Many things have been added, changed, and redone. If you'd like to see the full list of changes, be sure to check out the Updates tab. The completion of this update brings us one step closer to being able to post to the Steam store!
June 23, 2017: Another progress report
We've begun adding new content to Pine Lake! We've finished redoing all enemies, weapons, and the entire inventory! As for the new content, we've added all but one weapon to Pine Lake so far,
and we're about to move on to armor and equipment. Hopefully we can finish this version at some point in early to mid July. Check out one of the new weapons for Pine Lake: Knife Storm.
June 15, 2017: Progress report
Things have been going well so far! Right now we're working on a new system for enemies and weapons, essentially redoing each enemy and many of the weapons. At the current time, we have every enemy and weapon in the Meadow, Tundra, and Desert all redone! With these new systems, we are added a piercing ability to each weapon. All weapons have the ability to pierce a specific number of enemies each. For example, the Battleaxe can pierce three enemies, while the Knives can only pierce one! This also eliminates that annoying invulnerability period the enemies get each time you hit them. All we have left is the Forest, and then we'd like to make some more internal changes. This would include completely redoing the inventory, because that's obviously kind of a mess right now. We'd also like to spice up the GUI a little more to make it less boring, and then start adding more content! More to come soon!
June 9, 2017: What's being worked on now?
It's been quite a while since we've worked on Draxel. Lately, we've been focused on some other projects, and haven't really touched Draxel much up until now. We realized that there are some major internal changes that need to be made before we can continue to add new content. This is what we are working on right now. Once this is done, we'll be working on adding some of the new weapons and items from Pine Lake. Stay tuned for more information in the coming days ahead!
June 8, 2017: Greenlit!
We received a pleasant surprise this morning that we have been Greenlit! Thank you to all of our voters who picked our game, despite our ratio of yes to no votes. We understand that we are quite lucky to be receiving this honor, so we'd like to make Draxel into the best game it can be. We will continue to work on Draxel and get it onto the Storefront as soon as possible! Once again, thank you!
May 25, 2016: Demo available
You can now play a demo version of Draxel on this website. You can find it by clicking the "Play Draxel" button above.
May 15, 2016: Game jams
In totally unrelated news, Epicular and I participated in the One Hour Game Jam last weekend and on this one. It is an event in which one must program a game pertaining to a selected theme within one hour! If you want to play the games we made, click here (the theme was Yellow Unicorn), and here (the theme was Everthing is Dangerous; I did this one alone).
May 11, 2016: Failure
I'm not gonna lie... Our Greenlight campaign was an absolute failure. With about 80% no votes and 20% yes votes, it's pretty clear: Draxel will not be coming to the Steam store. We received lots of fair criticisms from the Steam community, and this will help us make better games in the future. This was a great learning experience, and at the end of the day, I'm glad we at least tried. All Draxel development will be delayed for now as we work on new projects.
April 22, 2016: Going into Greenlight
Draxel is now in the Steam Greenlight system! If we get enough votes, we will be able to put our game on the Steam store! Click here to check out the page. If you like what you see (and you have a Steam account with a $5.00 purchase on it), vote us up! If you DON'T like what you see, then... uh... vote us up anyway! We'll post updates as they come!
April 21, 2016: Preparing for Greenlight
We are preparing to release the game to Steam Greenlight! We have a trailer now (at the top of the page), and we're going to post the game within a few days. Stay tuned!

January 29, 2016: Controller support
Controller support is coming! In Pre-Alpha 1.5, you will be able to plug a gamepad into your computer and play the game. We're also introducing factions in the Forest town, more about that will come soon.
January 18, 2016: Patch released
Today, we released Pre-Alpha 22.214.171.124, addressing some issues found in the previous version, 1.4.1. We also lowered the difficulty of the Orc Invasion, since several of us found it to be much too difficult.
January 17, 2016: New webpage
